Lily Smith (Kobabe) and Kelly Smith, Owners and Operators of 

SmithSmith Aerial Arts ​

For most of her youth, Lily trained and performed as a dancer, circus artist and a competitive rhythmic gymnast.  She studied at The School of American Ballet,  Alonzo King Lines Ballet, and San Francisco Circus Center. Her circus career began at age 9, becoming one of the founding members of Los Angeles-based company Dream World Cirque. In her performing career she worked with Miley Cyrus, Ellen Degeneres, Santana, iCarly and more. Lily became a database member of Cirque Du Soleil in 2008, performing with the company at events in Los Angeles in 2009 and received a contract offer for Kooza in 2010.  Lily’s performing career spans genres of ballet, contemporary ballet and dance, aerial arts, hi-wire and contortion. ​

Kelly is an accomplished designer, craftsman, fabricator, and welder, a true jack of all trades and master of several. He has a background in metal work, boats, and van conversions. His attention to detail makes our work stand out functionally and aesthetically.  @noticingisourenterprise

We met in 2014 by chance when Kelly was attending UC Santa Cruz and Lily was attending dance school in San Francisco. We fell in love but the timing wasn't right until we reconnected in 2022 and got married right away. Our company started out small in my grandparents' garage while we cared for them until the end of their life.  During this time Lily was regaining her passion for teaching and performing again, and thus our business began to grow.

We founded SmithSmith Aerial Arts together in 2024.  @smithsmithaerialarts
